【歌謠的潛力】大師班
波蘭戲劇界葛羅托斯基(Jerzy Grotowski)是戲劇界舉足輕重的巨匠，他的工作、著作及研究顛覆了西方戲劇界對劇場藝術的認知及發展，被譽為二十世紀西方劇場最重要的四位大師之一。
在1984年，他遇上了Thomas Richards，開展了「藝乘」（Art as Vehicle）的工作。在兩人的緊密工作中，葛氏把畢生的研究及當中密法傳給Thomas Richards並指定他為「衣鉢傳人」。
我們很榮幸可以邀請到Thomas Richards及其團隊成員來港開展其研究中心解散後第一個在亞洲舉辦的大師班。
這次大師班將帶領每位學員進入Thomas Richards過去 35 年來研究表演藝術的核心精粹。以非洲加勒比和非洲傳統歌謠為素材，探索如何從歌謠的旋律與節奏，引發表演者個人及群體的動態、節奏，進而將身體脈動搭上歌曲，進入張力狀態並呈現生命之流。
更難得是，在我們的努力下，Thomas Richards罕有地在課程內加入以傳統香港歌謠的部分，與香港的本土文化營造更切身的接觸。

【The Potential of Song】
in Hong Kong
Led by Thomas Richards and assisted by members of Theatre No Theatre, The Potential of Song will introduce each participant to an exploration of a work on songs of tradition.
The masterclass will consist in practical sessions of work on songs coming from Afro-Carribean and African traditions, which have been at the core of Mr. Richards’ performing arts research for over 35 years. Such a work on song explores the potential impact that the rhythmic and melodic qualities of certain songs of tradition can have on the persons who sing.
In addition, this master class will also attempt to integrate Mr. Richards’ work with Hong Kong traditional music.
